Shortest

This might be my shortest blog post ever.

Here. Read this. It's Etisalat giving its side of the BlackBerry story.

See if it makes you angry...

This is becoming ridiculous.

We know that they sent us spyware! They know that they sent us spyware! They know that we know that they us spyware! heck, the whole world knows they sent us spyware!

If only there was a decent alternative to switch to (as du's coverage still sucks).

I simply cannot believe this.

On which planet do they live. We already know that it is IMPOSSIBLE to increase performance with such a patch as low level radio communication and handover functionality can only be changed by RIM themselves in the firmware. So why lie AGAIN. From the New York Times, to BBC, to Engadget and who knows else, everyone now knows about the blatant lie.

YES, this makes me VERY angry. I want to change my provider.

hat's worse is that head honcho will get a bonus and subscribers will get hefty extra charges

I am going to say this slowly so that the guys at ETISALAT can understand -
W-E A-R-E N-O-T I-D-I-O-T-S

Would it not be simpler to say "Sorry - we screwed up. It won't happen again"?

I can't believe people follow the Al Sahhaf School of PR.. Have they learned nothing since 2003!!

Just Itisatwats audacity in lying about the whole thing makes me very angry. Typical mentality for the region; no accountability.

I bet they're going to repeat this until the storm blows over - people forget things given enough time. Let's say a month or two ?

That, or they'll blame it on a low-level employee.

This muppet reminds me of other famous quotes made to the public...... who was it that said ..... um, ah "I did not have sexual relations with that woman"..... oh that's right Billy C.

Etisalat is just acting like the spoilt infant it is. did we seriously expect more?

They know that with TRA, the monopoly still stands. What will the blackberry subscribers do? leave for dU? even if they did, dUs' coverage is seriously lacking and the kicker here is that blackberry smartphones bought through etisalat are locked to the network!

try asking etisalat "customer service" to unlock them... they will tell you that they dont lock the phones and have no idea what you are talking about, if you are lucky enough to get someone who understands, they will tell you to sell the phone in the local market and go buy another one.
Wake up Etisalat! you might be censoring the net, but you cannot censor reasoning.
You are seriuously hurting the image the UAE and its rulers have been building up for our country by your irresponsible behaviour. It is shocking that heads arent rolling over this, but if brand UAE has any morals, they should.

I would love to see us all unite to boycott Etisalat all together, whether we are BB users or not. This is about a principle. Shame on all of us if we just sit back, watch this, discuss it, and then simply accept that our basic rights to privacy can be invaded so blatantly.
