The polite people ...You need to wind your neck in!

The polite people who put up with you for 3 hours eventually discovered the problem, which was caused by something you downloaded. So they solved your issue. HSBC detected this plug-in as a security threat protected your account.

Or as you put it...

"The usual appalling IP line, the usual strongly accented CallBot"

"The CallBots are now programmed to say human-like things such as 'How are you today Mr Alexander?'. Given I have just spent twenty minutes being poked with sharp sticks by your witless colleagues and am in a state of fundamental frustration being denied access to my bank account for no apparent reason, how do you think I am today, you artless, bloated drone?"BQLSnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655889105820772060.post-66376597529278325892013-10-14T11:07:19.387+03:002013-10-14T11:07:19.387+03:00They must be too busy with their other operations....They must be too busy with their other operations. Didnt recognise the fob for some reason.
Of course to the call centre you are the only person experiencing this, as if it makes it better.
Nobody solved the problem, nobody called back.
It only appears to be HSBC in Dubai, nowhere else when these issues come up. Calls made on roaming rates costing arm and a leg. Reason for the card lockout was " foreign transaction". Lloyds used to call me and confirm where I was. HSbC shut down the card and wait for me to call them.Bushmechanicnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655889105820772060.post-35285840789974660132013-10-08T11:25:30.342+03:002013-10-08T11:25:30.342+03:00I fled HSBC twice (second time when they chased me...I fled HSBC twice (second time when they chased me down by acquiring Lloyds Dubai). Each time the replacement was far superior in every respect. Now with EmiratesNBD - who have their issues for sure - but everything is better than with HSBC (and Lloyds tbh), particularly online banking. So yes, the others ARE measurably better than HSBC (with whom I am still forced miserably to interact at work - where they are equally incompetent and unhelpful...).Rootlessnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655889105820772060.post-21692112715983659782013-10-07T15:30:16.285+03:002013-10-07T15:30:16.285+03:00I had the browser issue with paypal the other day,...I had the browser issue with paypal the other day, To my immense irritation it wouldn't work with safari or chrome but worked fine with Firefox. For reasons only known to HSBC, they can't serve up a PDF document that can be opened by Chrome or Firefox.

Every other website I've ever tried has no trouble with Chrome and PDFs.
