I'm so glad that's sorted out. The rules are completely transparent and unambiguous.Grumpy Goathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07944514711900089561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655889105820772060.post-14539662011752664242008-07-23T21:48:00.000+03:002008-07-23T21:48:00.000+03:00What boggles my mind is that high powered, highly ...What boggles my mind is that high powered, highly paid people sit around in endless meetings coming up with this stuff. And they take it all seriously.

I have a horrible suspicion that they really believe in what they're doing, they really think they're coming up with innovative answers to what they see as a problem.

It's pure Monty Python.

There was another answer I would have thought. As Alexander and I, and I'm sure many others, have been saying, if you fix the taxi problems the illegal taxis disappear.

And what do you do about car pooling? Nothing. People share cars. That's it.Seabeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06939892206726271433noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655889105820772060.post-76649052175751633472008-07-23T19:03:00.001+03:002008-07-23T19:03:00.001+03:00One of the FAQ on the website says:Q Will there be...One of the FAQ on the website says:

Q Will there be any permission issued when carpooling the family members and friends?

A No, because this does not run counter to the rules of fighting the illegal taxi practice.

So in other words if it's friends or family as passsengers it's fine and you don't have to register - wow, how civilised. I can actually be free to choose to give a lift to a friend or family member. Thank you Dubai. For the last seven months I've been trying to get a refund of the deposit on my desk at DMC. Now they are accusing me of absconding because I didn't cancel my visa when I left - they ignore the fact that the visa is cancelled automatically when the holder is out of the country for more than six months (as I have been), and also that the damn thing's expiry date was December last year.

Lunatics on a different planet, methinks. Really, the stuff we know as logic and reason in the West hardly seems to apply.

Miffed. Narked. Unhappy. Stuff like that.

*/rant*Keefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04820411415545249138noreply@blogger.com
