Or be in danger of being 'outed'.

Blogs can be such a double-edged sword. Fearful of the long arm of the wossname. I still haven't quite got used to the idea that in Europe you can say whatever you like (within the limits of libel laws) and your right to do so is enshrined in Constitutions etc.

I do worry sometimes when I am being critical of certain companies - I know they don't read my blog, so it's a bit like kicking someone who's already down...Keefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04820411415545249138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655889105820772060.post-2973295936666342802008-07-31T11:26:00.000+03:002008-07-31T11:26:00.000+03:00alexander:Anonymity is good in some places, not so...alexander:
Anonymity is good in some places, not so good in others; I've used one forum that requires you to publicly use your full name and there never seem to be any childish arguments and it would also seem that forum is the most productive I've ever seen on the internet.

On the topic of number 5, I had quite a fun time with a certain job recruitment agency on my blog, who responded by posting stuff about me being connected with credit card fraud (funnily enough, at that time I didn't even have a bank account or a credit card), they signed the comment as being from citibank. When I checked my logs it was from the job recruitment agency.samuraisamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06177501779546963794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655889105820772060.post-44165724114358835162008-07-30T14:22:00.000+03:002008-07-30T14:22:00.000+03:00i wish my family read this before making an arse o...i wish my family read this before making an arse of themselves...Emhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01267643422775549142noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655889105820772060.post-14384906610182218772008-07-30T08:42:00.000+03:002008-07-30T08:42:00.000+03:00I use a pseudo. because I love it, means a lot for...I use a pseudo. because I love it, means a lot for me and represent my past.
Everybody has the right of choice :)BUT
regarding the anonymouse's comment from "Scooped", for me is obviously, that specially he wanted to hide his identity to protect himself.
Congratulation for you, you uncovered him!!!sea lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15653256388570965890noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655889105820772060.post-55648240226479321192008-07-29T19:17:00.000+03:002008-07-29T19:17:00.000+03:00I've got a real problem with anonymouses - it's on...I've got a real problem with anonymouses - it's one of the things that started me blogging in the first place. OK, I've got a mouth... But at least it's got a name and a reputation attached to it and is prepared to bear the consequences for its mouthery.

I do feel strongly that anonymity promotes ugly behaviour purely because people believe their cruelty (it's never about kindness, is it?) is without consequence.

But the post is advice for corporates, not individuals. I do think that people representing companies that try to be anonymously positive or aggressive in the face of blog posts(and fail, because we can track back their IPs) are dangerous to the company. If it comes from a company URL, it's a company statement, no? If you don't allow every staff member to be a spokesperson, why allow them to comment on blogs?

What inspired the post? Ah, inspiration. It's never there when you look for it, is it?

:)Alexanderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14141884153180374138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655889105820772060.post-60665270727826838832008-07-29T18:36:00.000+03:002008-07-29T18:36:00.000+03:00The problem with anonymity is that people say thin...The problem with anonymity is that people say things in a manner that they would never do to your face. Flaming is so much easier when you think no one can find out who you are.

As for the purpose of the post, I can only begin to imagine what inspired it.Susan https://www.blogger.com/profile/06455506176926199209noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655889105820772060.post-41089764648103741312008-07-29T15:28:00.001+03:002008-07-29T15:28:00.001+03:00in re anonymity: FWIW, it's not all bad.
